Recycling Your Summer Wardrobe For Winter Styles

Recycling Your Summer Wardrobe For Winter Styles

November 11, 2019

Overhauling your wardrobe at the hint of first rains is a daunting task, not to mention tedious. If you think that your summer wardrobe won’t see the light of day during winter, then this is a read for you. If it is not quite as nippy as yet, and the air is crisp with a lovely chillness to it, then you can lose the heavy coats, and re-use your clothes by simply layering them. You don’t have to always reach for the largest fur coat in your wardrobe. Playing around with your everyday essentials while staying warm is definitely doable in winter. Pull on your favourite polo by wearing a slim thermal t-shirt underneath it. Or slip into your favourite oversized hoodie.

The Seasoned Guys

If you are a denim-all-day guy, then you’re going to love this - this is a category made up of legends. Here you have your denims and corduroys, the year-round staple, in different shapes, sizes, textures and fits. You could also pull a denim jacket over a regular cardigan to turn up the style a notch. Choose darker shades though, or colours that are neutral such as black, grey, and brown. Experiment with your tones and textures so that you can choose to wear different styles of shirts and T-shirts with them.

Tees and Polos

Layering is key. Depending on the thickness of your T-shirt, layers could either be worn just over your tee, or on the third and final layer. This keeps you warm and stylish. These are your go-to clothes while looking to transition your wardrobe from summer into the colder months.

If you are a big fan of all things nautical, then blue and whites are your wardrobe must-haves. Experiment with the type and design of the T-shirts. Some like solid colours, and others prefer minimalistic patters such as stripes or small prints, whereas others are fans of slogans and rock bands. Either way, ensure that your ensemble has a pleasing tone, and they go well with the trousers or denims that you choose.

Accessories

When the sun comes out, so do the glares. But winter months call for your sunglasses too, especially if you’re out and about. Protect your eyes with your good UV sunglasses, or opt for the polaroid ones if you intend to take a skiing vacation sometime.

Footwear

When winter sets in, we can feel the chill in our toes. Summer boots and shoes are great carry-overs as they agree well with the cold, and keep your feet warm and cosy.
